Purpose
To approve the City of Wolverhampton
productivity plan ahead of submission to the Department for
Levelling Up Homes and Communities.
Content
1.
That the City of Wolverhampton
Council Productivity Plan attached as Appendix 1 to the report be
approved.
2.
That it be noted that the Local
Government Finance Settlement in February 2024, the former
Secretary of State for the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and
Communities (now called the Ministry for Housing, Communities and
Local Government) announced that all local authorities in England
would need to prepare productivity plans for submission to
government.
3.
That it be noted that since the announcement
that local authorities would need to prepare productivity plans, a
General Election was held on the 4 July 2024 which resulted in a
change of administration for national government. There has not
been a request to pause submission of productivity plans and the
Council will submit our plan to the Ministry of Housing,
Communities and Local Government on the deadline of the 19 July,
noting it is subject to approval by Cabinet.
