Purpose

The Government has announced a number of
measures to ensure that the country achieves it’s ambition of
becoming Smokefree by 2030 and announced a £322,613 uplift in
the Public Health grant. This paper outlines how Public Health
intends to act to strengthen Wolverhampton’s efforts to
reduce smoking prevalence, utilising the new legislative measures
and proposals for how the grant funding that will be drawn down
from OHID will be spent.
This report seeks approval for the establishment of supplementary
budgets in line with the Constitution under The Financial Procedure
Rules.
Approval is required to establish supplementary budgets of
£322,613 funded from the OHID Smoking Cessation Grant.
