RESOLVED –

 

(i)        
That the sizes and political balance of the standing Committees and Scrutiny
Committees, as      specified in Appendix 1, be agreed.

 

(ii)        That the political balance
of the Chairs and Vice Chairs of the Standing and Scrutiny Committees, as
     specified in Appendix 2 be agreed.

 

(iii)       That the size and political
balance of those Panels and Groups as set out in Appendix 3 be agreed.

 

(iv)      That the list of revised memberships, as tabled,
be agreed with the following additional changes:

 

            Customers,
Performances, Resources and Governance Scrutiny Committee

           
Councillor Frank Hemmings be appointed to a seat relinquished by the Independent
Group

 

            Lifelong
Learning Scrutiny Committee

           
Councillor Jerry Wellens be appointed to a seat relinquished by the Independent
Group

 

(v)      
That Group Leaders provide the names of the nominated Councillors to the Chief
Officer Governance           &
Customer within 7 days.

 

REASON FOR DECISION

 

(i)       To
agree the revised political allocation of seats to Committees and Scrutiny
Committees in accordance with the legislative requirements.  

(ii)      To agree the appointment
of Members to the vacant seats on Committees, Scrutiny Committees and Various
Panels set up by the Council as part of its Constitution, as outlined in
paragraph 4.9 of the report.
