Purpose
Shared Prosperity Fund 2025-2026
Content
RESOLVED –
(i) That the recommendations from the Wrexham
City and County Borough UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund Stakeholder Group
to move the Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) allocation of the Shared
Prosperity Fund into one project/fund to be managed by the Council’s SPF Team
and to open it up to applications be approved.
(ii) That
the arrangements for the determination of applications into the Shared
Prosperity Fund in WCBC, so that a fund can be opened up for applications
between £50K and £700K be approved. It would be possible to consider projects
below a value of £50k, but it is proposed that such awards should be approved
via a sub-fund of the main fund as outlined in paragraph 4.7 of the report.
(iii) That
the delegated decision for applications below £50K, should any WCBC sub-fund be
approved, to WCBC Chief Officer for Economy and Planning in agreement with WCBC
Leader and WCBC Deputy Leader, as outlined in paragraph 4.8 of this report be
approved.
(iv) That
this item to be dealt with as a matter of urgent business in accordance with
Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10(m)) of the Council’s Constitution.
Reason for
decisions
For Members to
consider the recommendations from the Stakeholder Group to re-open and
re-purpose an existing SPF project to enable applications to made into the fund
for new projects from a wide range of stakeholders.
