Purpose

To consider the review of
existing 20mph speed limits back to 30mph

Content

RESOLVED –

 

(i)         That the
list of 52 roads to revert back to 30 mph from 20 mph, and the conclusion of
the work relating to the National speed limit change be approved.

 

(ii)        That officers
to work to a target date of May 2025 for the changes to be completed and to
engage with GoSafe around active enforcement in these areas.

 

(iii)       That
following a review
of the 20 mph speed limits across the County Borough and as a consequence of these
changes officers will work with Local Members as appropriate if further changes or modifications are
required.

 

Reasons
for decisions

 

(i)         To
conclude the process for reconsideration of the speed limit of the roads that
had been reduced to 20 mph as part of the Welsh Government scheme.

 

(ii)        To
ensure the work is concluded in a timely manner and the traffic speeds are
appropriately monitored
