Purpose
To review absence triggers and
clarify certain elements of the procedure
Content
RESOLVED –
(i) That the amended Managing Attendance
Policy and Procedure set out in report CE/21/25 be approved.
(ii) That
the policy be reviewed every 3 years and delegated authority given for the Head
of Service, HR&OD in consultation with the Lead Member for Corporate and
Customer Services to have discretion to update the policy where there is a
legislative change.
Reasons for Decisions
(i) To ensure that the Council
applies an efficient, fair and consistent approach to monitoring absence whilst
supporting employee’s through the Managing Attendance policy and
procedure. Ensuring managers are
implementing the procedures with support from Human Resources.
(ii) To ensure that managers are
monitoring absence data, identify absence concerns early, provide support to
improve attendance through the application of the policy
