RESOLVED –

(i)         Wrexham
County Borough Council objects to the proposal for a new National Park.  Our reasons are as follows:

Local Authorities and other public bodies will deliver
statutory duties within the National Park boundary, for example highways
maintenance, public transport, public toilet provision and refuse collection.
Additional pressures from the growth of visitor numbers will impact on the
demand for services and budgets of Local Authorities and other public bodies
which isn’t covered by Welsh Governments full funding for a national park.   There is no clarity in respect of the impact
on the Welsh Language, housing affordability and planning service delivery

(ii)        That this matter be dealt with as an urgent
item of business in accordance with Section 5 (Rule 5.8.19(m)) of the Council’s
Constitution.

Reasons for decisions

(i)         To ensure the Council’s views are
considered by NRW in their consideration of a National Park Designation.

(ii)        To ensure that the item is dealt with as
an urgent item of business in order to comply with the timescale for response
to the New National Park Proposal consultation on 8 December 2025.
