Purpose

To carry out a review of appointments to the Executive
Board, Committees, Scrutiny Committees and various Panels set up by the Council
as part of its Constitution.

Content

RESOLVED –

 

(i)         That
the sizes and political balance of the standing Committees and Scrutiny Committees, as specified in Appendix 1, be agreed.

 

(ii)        That
the political balance of the Chairs and Vice Chairs of the Standing and Scrutiny Committees, as specified in Appendix 2 be
agreed.

 

(iii)       That the size and political balance of
those Panels and Groups as set out in Appendix 3 be
agreed.

 

(iv)      That, in accordance with Appendix 4,
the following amendments be made to memberships:

 

·        
Councillor Marc Jones to replace Councillor Hugh Jones on the Standards
Committee

·        
Councillor ******** to replace Councillor Jerry Wellens on the
Governance and Audit Committee

·        
Councillors Jeremy Newton and ************* to replace Councillor Robert
Ian Williams on the Environmental Licensing Committee.  Councillor Anthony Wedlake will join
Councillor Corin Jarvis as a member who can be called upon if a Meeting is not
quorate

·        
Councillor Anthony Wedlake to replace Councillor Jeremy Kent on the
Appointments Committee

·        
Councillor Mike Davies to replace Councillor Ross Shepherd on the
Grievance Committee

·        
Councillor ********** to replace Councillor Paul Roberts on the
Investigation and Disciplinary Committee

·        
Councillors ********** and ************ to replace Councillors Michael
Morris and Jerry Wellens on the Customers, Performance, Resources and
Governance Scrutiny Committee

·        
Councillor Jerry Wellens to replace Councillor Jeremy Kent on the
Safeguarding, Communities and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee

·        
Councillor Jerry Wellens be appointed as Vice Chair of the Safeguarding,
Communities and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee

 

(v)       That
Group Leaders provide the names of the nominated Councillors (in accordance
with iv above) to the Chief Officer Governance & Customer within
10 working days.

To agree the revised
political allocation of seats to Committees and Scrutiny Committees in
accordance with the legislative requirements.
