Purpose

To agree the Council’s approach to the £1.5m Pride in Place
Impact Fund, which has been awarded to Wrexham County Borough Council by UK
Government

Content

RESOLVED –

 

(i)       That the proposal to allocate the entire
£1.5m Pride in Place Impact Fund to the 34 Town & Community Councils in
Wrexham County Borough to invest in public and community-owned assets and infrastructure
that improve Community Spaces and Public Spaces, as outlined in sections 4.20
and 4.21 of report COEP/12/26 be approved.

 

(ii)      That
the Interim Chief Officer Economy & Planning and the Chief Officer Finance
& ICT, in consultation with the Lead Member Finance & Performance, be
authorised to determine the operational details of the funding awards, the
monitoring and reporting arrangements and the mechanism for addressing any
re-allocation of funds that will be required.

 

(iii)     That
the Interim Chief Officer Economy & Planning and the Chief Officer Finance
& ICT, in consultation with the Lead Member Finance & Performance open
the fund to the Town and Community Councils, as soon as is practicable in 2026.

 

(iv)     That
the Interim Chief Officer Economy & Planning and Chief Officer Finance
& ICT be authorised to submit and certify the PiPIF Spend Forecast to the
UK Government in February 2026, based on this approach.

 

Reasons for Decisions

 

(i) To provide stakeholders with certainty as to the
implementation of the Pride in Place Impact Fund.

 

(ii) To support local decision making that will aid
investment in public and community owned assets across Wrexham County Borough,
in line with the Council’s Placemaking ambitions.

 

(iii) To enable the Council to submit its Pride in Place
Impact Fund spend forecast to UK Government in February 2026
