Purpose

To inform Members of the Council’s intention to dispose of
the former Community Centre and associated open space within the site.

Content

RESOLVED –

 

(i)       That the Chief
Officer Housing in consultation with the Lead Member for Finance and Asset
Management and the Local Members be authorised to dispose of the surplus
property known as the Lodge Community Centre shown in plan 06-98-1 (Appendix 1
of report COH/06/26) by way of marketing through traditional methods for a
six-month period prior to a public auction.

 

(ii)      That the Chief Officer Governance &
Customer be authorised to advertise the intention to dispose of the land shown
cross hatched in Appendix 1, forming part of an open space pursuant to Section
123 (2A) Local Government Act 1972.

 

(iii)     That the Chief Officer Governance &
Customer report to the Executive Board any objection received to the intended
disposal of the site forming part of the open space, but in the absence of
objection the land be disposed of as set out in the report.

 

Reason for Decisions

To obtain support for a course of
action to dispose of surplus property, generate a cost saving and generate a
capital receipt to the Council.
