Purpose
To secure support for the Draft Regional Delivery Plan for
the new Connect to Work programme, which will support mobilisation of the
programme in Wrexham County Borough
Content
RESOLVED –
(i) That the draft Regional Delivery Plan for
the Connect to Work programme,
which has been developed through collaboration between
the six north Wales local authorities be supported.
(ii) That delegated authority be granted to the
Interim Chief Officer Economy
& Planning, in consultation with the Lead Member Economy, Business & Tourism, to directly commission the
Individual Placement Support
element of the Connect to Work programme
in Wrexham to review and sign agreements for the funding of the programme with the Accountable Body, once
the Delivery Plan is approved by
the Department for Work & Pensions.
(iii) That delegated authority be granted to the Interim
Chief Officer Economy & Planning,
in consultation with the Lead Member Economy,
Business & Tourism, to support the regional commissioning of the Supported Employment Quality Framework element of Connect to Work, as set
out in the draft Delivery Plan.
(iii) That delegated authority be granted to the Interim
Chief Officer Economy & Planning,
in consultation with the Lead Member Economy,
Business & Tourism, to directly commission the Individual Placement Support element of the Connect to Work
programme in Wrexham.
Reason for Decisions
To allow the Council to progress the work required on a
regional basis to establish the new Connect to Work employment support
programme in Wrexham County Borough, which will benefit economically inactive
people and launch in 2026.
