Purpose

The Wrexham County Borough Council Dog Control and Dog
Fouling Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) was last made on 1 October 2020.
The Order must be reviewed every 3 years. The Current PSPO is valid until 30
September 2023 therefore it has to be reviewed and renewed accordingly. The
Wrexham County Borough Council Dog Control and Dog Fouling Public Space
Protection Order (PSPO) must be in place to allow for the enforcement of dog
fouling and other dog control matters across the County Borough

Content

RESOLVED -

 

(i)         That the renewal of the Public Spaces
Protection Order (PSPO) for dog fouling and dog control which covers the County
Borough, as set out in Appendix 1 to report COET/19/23, be approved.

 

(ii)        That the Public Spaces Protection Order
(PSPO) for dog fouling and dog control covering the County Borough commences on
1 October 2023 until 30 September 2026.

 

Reason for decisions

 

To ensure public land
is kept free from dog fouling and that dog owners act responsibly
to keep dogs under control in public areas.
