Purpose

For Members to agree the proposals for the creation of a
Town Board, in order to secure the Long-Term Plan for Towns programme in
Wrexham, which includes funding of £20m over the next 10 years

Content

RESOLVED –

 

(i)         That the
proposed boundary map as outlined in 4.7 of report COEP/51/24 be approved.

 

(ii)        That the
proposed named membership and structure of the interim Wrexham Town Board as
outlined in section 4.9 of report COEP/51/24 be approved.

 

(iii)       That
this matter is dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with
Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10(m)) of the Council’s Constitution.

 

Reason for decisions

 

(i)         To progress the implementation of the
Long Term Plan for Towns programme.

 

(ii)        The reason for urgency is to ensure that
work can continue at pace, to finalise the Long Term Plan, which must be
submitted to UK, on or before, 1 August 2024.
