Purpose
For Members to approve the Wrexham Long Term Plan, developed
by the Wrexham Town Board, and agree that it is submitted to the UK Government,
in order to secure the Long-Term Plan for Towns programme in Wrexham, which
includes funding of £20m over the next 10 years
Content
RESOLVED –
(i) That the
proposed submission document for Wrexham’s Long-Term Plan, as developed by the
Wrexham City Board, which is presented at Appendix 2 of report COEP/68/24 be
approved.
(ii) That this
document be submitted to UK Government by the deadline of 1 August 2024.
(iii) That
this matter is dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with
Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10(m)) of the Council’s Constitution.
Reasons for decisions
(i) To progress the implementation of the
Long-Term Plan for Towns programme.
(ii) The
reason for urgency is to ensure that the Wrexham Town Plan is submitted to UK
Government by its hard-deadline of 1 August 2024.
