Development Projects submitted a report to outline the proposals
for the refurbishment of the Civic Centre reception area and to
seek approval for the scheme to be added to the Capital Programme
for 2025/26 at a cost of £55,000 to be funded from the Asset
Maintenance and Management Reserve.

That approval is given to allocate an estimated £55,000
(which includes a £4,000 contingency and a £5,000
provisional sum for CCTV and a panic alarm) for the capital works
including 6% professional fees for the refurbishment of the Civic
Centre reception area.

That approval is given to extend the appointment of Messrs Cassidy
& Ashton, architects and designers to oversee the works and to
project manage the proposals to completion to RIBA Stage 6 and also
for them to directly appoint building contractors Messrs Singleton
& Smart, under the exemptions to Contract Procedures contained
within the Financial Regulations and Financial Procedure Rules on
the grounds that: “the goods, works or services constitute an
extension of variation of an existing contract, or are required
urgently, or the goods/materials, work or services consist of
repairs to, or the supply of parts for, existing proprietary plant
or equipment”.
