Purpose: Following a period of consultation, the Cabinet will be asked to consider and recommend to Council, approval of a new West Suffolk Housing, Homelessness Reduction and Rough Sleeping Strategy. As an interim step, Cabinet will be asked to approve the Homelessness Reduction and Rough Sleeping section of the Strategy.
Content: Recommended to Council: (19 November 2024) That: 1. The Housing, Homelessness Reduction and Rough Sleeping Strategy, attached as Appendix 1 to Report number CAB/WS/24/046, be approved. Resolved: That: 2. As an interim step, the Homelessness Reduction and Rough Sleeping section of the Strategy, be approved. 3. Delegated authority be given to the Director (Planning and Growth) and Strategic Director, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Housing, to make any presentational or clarificatory improvements or minor non-material consequential changes to the document as necessary prior to its submission to Council, including updating any data where this becomes available in the intervening period. Recommended to Council: (19 November 2024) That: 4. A further £612,000 be allocated to the delivery of the Strategy as set out in Section 2.6 and 2.7 of Report number CAB/WS/24/046, funded from the Strategic Priorities and MTFS reserve. 5. An annual review of progress against the strategy and action plan be reported to Cabinet and the quarterly Key Performance Indicators reported to Performance and Audit Scrutiny Committee and Cabinet are updated as necessary to reflect the commitments in this Strategy. Resolved: That: 6. The updated calculations to support the Council’s investment in temporary accommodation, previously agreed by Cabinet on 23 July 2024, be noted.
