Purpose: Connect to Work helps eligible individuals secure sustainable, long-term employment. Buckinghamshire Council is expected to support 700 individuals (at the peak) at an anticipated cost of £2.9million per year, delivered over an initial three-year period, with the opportunity to extend to 5 years. This complex programme aims to match individuals facing employment barriers with employers who provide suitable and sustainable job opportunities, accompanied by specialist support that addresses their specific needs.
Content: The Get Britain Working White Paper confirmed the key supported employment programme Connect to Work. Connect to Work helped eligible individuals secure sustainable, long-term employment. Buckinghamshire Council was expected to support 700 individuals (at the peak) at an anticipated cost of £2.9million per year, delivered over an initial three-year period, with the opportunity to extend to 5 years. This complex programme aimed to match individuals facing employment barriers with employers who provided suitable and sustainable job opportunities, accompanied by specialist support that addresses their specific needs. RESOLVED that the delivery of the Connect to Work programme by Buckinghamshire Council be approved and to delegate authority for approval of the specification to the Corporate Director of Resources in consultation with the Leader in order to meet the timelines for delivery, which would be assured through the Project Board.
