Yes Urgent? No Decision Maker: Director of Capital Strategy & Portfolio Management Decision Date: Thursday 3 April 2025 Published: Thursday 3 April 2025 For Call-in? Yes Call-in Expiry: Thursday 10 April 2025   Purpose: This report recommends the award of the Measured Term Contract (MTC) for Multi-Trade Works to Kirkman & Jourdain Ltd for planned maintenance works to schools and corporate buildings for a two-year period, with an option to extend for two one-year periods at the Council’s discretion. The primary purpose of this contract is to support the School’s Capital Repairs Programme towards maintaining the estate, ensuring the health and safety of all pupils and staff. Decision Taken: I, the Director of Capital Strategy & Portfolio Management hereby approve the award of the MTC for Multi-Trade Works to Kirkman & Jourdain Ltd, who provided the most economical and competitive tender bid as detailed in the Evolve Norse tender report Appendix 1 to the report (exempt). The overall value of the contract will not exceed £4,000,000.   And I have instructed the proper officer to publish this written record of my decision. Reason: As set out in the report. Alternative Options Considered: The Council could decide not to award the contract; however, this could result in the Council not meeting its statutory duty to maintain building infrastructure in schools, which will ultimately result in potential risks to health and safety and school closures.   DOCUMENTS All relevant documents must be published at least five clear days before the meeting, unless the proper officer agrees some or all of the documents contain exempt or confidential information, as defined by the Regulations.
