Purpose: Highways works framework is ending in April 2026 this is a strategy to enhance the procurement to be a one council contract for all public realm type works across multiple departments

Content: For Cabinet to approve:   That Appendix 1 is not for publication on the basis that it contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) as set out in paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).   The strategy to procure a Public Realm Maintenance & Project Works Contract, covering Highways, Parks, and Housing for a total period of 10 years on a 7 + 3 (extension) model, effective from 1 April 2026.   The procurement strategy for a Public Realm professional services framework contract for a total period of 4 years, effective from 1 April 2026.   The variation of the ground maintenance contract by the withdrawal of the Councils Cemeteries and Burial arrangements from this contract and bring the service in-house.
