Purpose:

Content: RESOLVED that the Executive Cabinet: (i)    Approve the establishment of a SEN Unit at St Marys RC Primary School (Denton) for pupils with communication and interaction needs with effect from 1 September 2025. (ii)   Note the withdrawal of the proposed SEN Unit at Stalyhill Infant School and Alder Community High School, following governing board request. (iii)Provide continued support the development of 8 SEN Units within Tameside academy schools which are subject to DfE approval. (iv)Approve the proposed interim funding arrangements to support pupils currently in mainstream schools which were subject to the 2024/25 inclusion pilot project. (v)   Approve the allocation of £1.5m of High Needs capital grant to enable adaptation work and equipping of the approved new SEN Units, the detail of which will be overseen by the Education Capital Officer Board. (vi)Approve the inclusion of the capital schemes relating to the £1.5m High Needs capital grant allocation within the 2025/26 Education service capital programme as detailed in table 2.
