Purpose: The purpose of this report is to seek the Cabinet Member’s approval to go out to publication consultation on the Damfield Lane Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan.
Content: Decision(s): (1) the contents of the draft Damfield Lane Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plans for Public Consultation (Annexes) be approved, and; (2) Public Consultation for the documents for a 6-week period beginning July 2025 and ending in August 2025 be proceeded with (subject to approvals) Reason(s) for the Decision(s): The approval to proceed with public consultation on the Damfield Lane Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan will enable the Council to meet its statutory responsibilities and engage the community in shaping the future of the conservation area. The proposed timeline and approach align with established procedures, and all associated implications can be managed within existing resources. Alternative Options Considered and Rejected The alternative options are that no Conservation Area Appraisal nor Management Plan are carried out which would not be in the best interests of preserving and enhancing Damfield Lane Conservation Area.
