Decision

Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Funding and Procurement

Decision Maker: Cabinet

Outcome: Approved

Is Key Decision?: Yes

Is Callable In?: Yes

Date of Decision: September 16, 2025

Purpose: The Council has been provisionally allocated approx. £0.5m from the LEVI fund to support the further deployment of EV charge-point infrastructure in a partnership bid being led by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.   The funding would support the installation of 20 rapid charging points, which are largely absent from the Borough, and does not require match-funding.  The Cabinet will be asked to endorse the project, acceptance of the grant terms and the proposed procurement strategy.

Content: Cabinet resolved to:   (i)  Agree that the Council proceeds with the procurement of a contract for rapid electric vehicle charging infrastructure in accordance with the strategy set out in the report, facilitated by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets as per the requirements of the LEVI funding; and   (ii)  Authorise the Strategic Director, Inclusive Growth and Place, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, the Strategic Director, Resources and the Head of Legal, to enter into the contract and all other necessary or ancillary agreements to fully implement and effect the proposals.
