Purpose: To seek approval for a new commissioning pathway to deliver therapeutic support for children and young people who are cared for under Special Guardianship Order (SGO).

Content: The Committee RESOLVED (unanimous vote in favour):   1. To approve the recommissioning of a contract(s) for therapeutic providers for the provision of therapeutic support to children cared for by a special guardian. The commissioning pathway applied will be the relevant conditions for their use are met (Patient choice) route to market.   2. To authorise the Executive Director for Children and Education in consultation with the Chair of the Children and Young People Committee to take all steps required to procure and award the contract(s) for 3 +1 years as outlined in the report.   3. To authorise the Executive Director for Children and Education in consultation with the Chair of the Children and Young People Committee to invoke any subsequent extensions/variations specifically defined in the contract(s) being awarded, up to the maximum budget envelope outlined in the report.   The Committee also noted: - This contract has been developed in consultation with the Special Guardianship Support Service. - Market engagement events for providers will take place between now and November 2025 with the aim to enable providers to join the new contract.
