Purpose: To provide an update on the delivery of the education capital programme and seek approval to allocate funding to deliver projects to provide additional specialist school places.

Content: The Committee RESOLVED (unanimous vote in favour):   1. To approve the delivery of the capital project to provide 30 new school places at Henbury Court Academy as part of Bristol’s SEND provision.   2. To authorise the Director of Education in consultation with the Chair of the Children and Young People Committee to take all steps required to spend £1.178m of project funds for the Henbury Court refurbishment project, including procuring and awarding contracts over the key decision threshold, as outlined in this report.   3. To approve the expansion of the existing St Anne’s project to include the roof and other associated works and allocation of a further £2m, taking the total budget to £3.429m to allow the project to be completed. (£1.6m from Schools Conditions Grant and £400k from High needs unallocated contingency funding)   4. To authorise the Director of Education in consultation with the Chair of the Children and Young People Committee and Director Property, Assets and Infrastructure to take all steps required to spend the funding on the St Anne’s project, including procuring and awarding contracts over the key decision threshold, as outlined in the report.
