Purpose:
Content: It was moved by Councillor German, seconded by Councillor M Thomas and RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO CABINET: 1. That the delivery of social housing to increase to the UK average per 100,000 people be prioritised, with the appropriate number of new homes adapted for disabled people. It was moved by Councillor German, seconded by Councillor Webb and RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO CABINET: 2. That the challenges and opportunities of food and energy security be recognised and that explicit targets be set in those areas. It was moved by Councillor German, seconded by Councillor Ewert and RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO CABINET: 3. That Blue Light integration be prioritised within Cornwall and that the Government be asked for the powers to pilot a Blue Light Integration Model to enhance services to residents and drive efficiencies in emergency services, building on the success of TriService. There was one abstention. It was moved by Councillor German, seconded by Councillor Alvey and RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO CABINET: 4. That use of existing legal powers to take action against sewage pollution in Cornwall’s waterways and seas be prioritised. It was moved by Councillor Alvey, seconded by Councillor Webb and RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO CABINET: 5. That, in respect of the “a resilient economy creating good growth and jobs” priority that the importance of tourism and changing pattern of tourism in Cornwall be reflected and that the tourism sector be supported in this important area of the Cornish economy. It was moved by Councillor M Thomas, seconded by Councillor Ewert and RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO CABINET: 6. That the importance of the Corporate Parenting role of all Cornwall Council Members be prioritised and that efforts be made to increase the public’s awareness of it. There was one vote against the motion. It was moved by Councillor M Thomas, seconded by Councillor Ewert and RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO CABINET: 7. That the importance of dealing with SEND issues in Cornwall be recognised and, in particular, the challenges faced in Cornwall.
