Purpose: Air Quality Action Plan required by Defra under the Local Air Quality Management regime for all local authorities with Air Quality Management Areas (in this instance, Lewes Town and Newhaven Ring Road AQMAs).   Further to public consultation, approval is required for the document to be adopted and published (subsequent to final approval from Defra).

Content: Resolved (Key decision):   (1) To approve the Air Quality Action Plan. (2) To grant delegated authority to the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Regeneration and Planning to adopt the Air Quality Action Plan, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate, Nature and Food Systems, having due regard to the appraisal by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
