Purpose: Report regarding the implementation of new speed limits within Banff & Buchan

Content: Committee agreed:   The recommendations as per the report; and   To request the following limits are considered at Infrastructure Services Committee:   a)    Cemetery Road, Fraserburgh - extend past Fraserburgh Golf Club entrance for road safety reasons as there is a pedestrian crossing and a lot of traffic.     b)    Strichen Road, Fraserburgh – request the following:    ·       replace 30mph with 20mph speed limit  - parents requesting as a busy school route.   ·       extend 20mph speed limit past Kirkton Road junction and West Road – school route and busy bus stop.    ·       extend 20mph speed limit from roundabout at Boothby Road down to A90.  c)     Ladysbridge – request to replace 60mph speed limit with 20mph speed limit following representations at Area Committee, Health and Safety concerns with 60mph limit heading towards a very busy junction where there has been a number of serious accidents over the years and also in terms of the residential area where residents have raised concerns about speeding.    3.     The Implementation Guide for 20mph Speed Limits in Scotland Guidance and current Speed Limits policy to be forwarded onto Members.
