Purpose: To seek approval from Committee for allocation of £8,136,000.00 Bristol Impact Fund 3 Medium and Large grants to the VCSE sector, from April 2026 to March 2030.
Content: The Committee RESOLVED to: 1. Approve the investment of £8,136,000 in a strategic programme of medium and large grants over four years from 1 April 2026 – 31 March 2030, to build city resilience by growing the power of communities experiencing the greatest inequity. 2. Note the saving of £110,000 for 2026/27 put forward at Full Council as part of the budget proposal for 25/26, which is £440,000 over the life of the four-year programme. 3. Note the consultation report at Appendix F. 4. Agree to: a. Suspend applications for BIF 3 small grants pending the outcome of the Full Council budget setting meeting for 2026/2027. b. Suspend BIF 3 small grants for the four years of the BIF 3 programme from 1 April 2026 - 31 March 2030 in the event full council approve a saving of £110k at its budget setting meeting in Feb 2026. 5. Authorise the Executive Director for Adults and Communities and Director of Public Health in consultation with Chair of the Public Health and Communities Committee to take all steps required to award grants (including entering into grant agreements) as set out in appendix A in line with the maximum budget envelope outlined in this report.
