Purpose: To review and comment on the budget pressures under the remit of the Committee.

Content: (a)    That the Committee reviewed and challenged the Social Services portfolio’s cost pressures and actions to impact on the associated overspend in 2025/26; and   (b)    That the Committee noted the lengthy processes and timelines for delivering  Extra Care and recommended that this cost pressure is deferred to 2026/27.   The Committee also noted the need to ascertain feasibility of current/projected need, sustainability and revenue funding aligned to capital development of Extra Care.
