Purpose: Cabinet is requested to consider the comments of scrutiny on the budget proposals and to take them into account in finalising the budget proposals for City Council.

Content: Cabinet agreed to:   i)  Consider the comments and concerns of scrutiny on the draft budget for 2026-27 and the draft medium-term financial plan for the period from 2026-27 to 2028-29 and take them into account in finalising the budget recommendations to be submitted to City Council.   ii)  Note that scrutiny will maintain a degree of oversight of the budget process as well as continuing to monitor and review implementation and impact of budget proposals during the coming municipal year. This may also include a review of responses received to the budget consultation from the public and stakeholders and budget changes that have been made as a result.
