Purpose: To consider approving the school term dates for 2027/28 for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools following consultation.

Content: 1.         That the following term dates be formally adopted for community and voluntary controlled schools for the 2027/2028 academic year: Term Open morning of Close at the end of the afternoon session on Total days per half term Autumn Term 2027 1 September 2027 22 October 2027 38   1 November 2027 17 December 2027 35 Spring Term 2028 4 January 2028 11 February 2028 29   21 February 2028 31 March 2028 30 Summer Term 2028 18 April 2028 26 May 2028 28   5 June 2028 21 July 2028 35 Total 195 2.         This provides 195 days when only 190 term days are required.  Schools should therefore allocate five training days within these dates and then publish their term dates clearly on their websites to ensure that parents and carers are aware of the specific dates for each individual school.
