Content: Salford City Council - Record of Decision   I, Councillor Mike McCusker, Lead Member for Planning, Transport and Sustainable Development, in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council Constitution, do hereby –   Not approve the Legal Order associated with the Peel Green Active Travel Scheme as set out in the report:   SALFORD CITY COUNCIL – CRSTS PEEL GREEN ACTIVE TRAVEL SCHEME LEGAL NOTICE FOR CHANGE IN STATUS OF SHARED FOOTWAY / CYCLEWAY   The Reasons are: Review of public and local ward members representations communicated through the engagement and consultation over the past 18 months.   Options considered and rejected were: Approving the legal order and proceeding with the scheme.   Assessment of Risk: High – Should the Peel Green Active Travel scheme not proceed, discussions with the funding programme team will need to be held to consider repurposing the CRSTS funding to deliver alternative projects elsewhere in Salford.   The source of funding is: City Regions Sustainable Transport Settlement   Legal Advice obtained: The Council as highways authority under the RTRA 1984 and Highways Act 1980 has the power to introduce the measures set out in the scheme and more particularly detailed in this report provided that any   Works and procedures are carried out in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements, including the consideration of all and any objections   Financial Advice obtained: The Peel Green Active Travel scheme is funded through City Regions Sustainable Transport Settlement grant.
