Purpose: Further to the Regulatory Committee held on 25 September 2024, to consider approving the removal of all vehicle age limits for Zero Emission Vehicles and increase age limits for diesel vehicles to 12 years; petrol vehicles to 13 years; and hybrid vehicles to 14 years, and the minimum age limit of six years to first licence a vehicle be removed for all vehicles.

Content: That the Taxi Policy be amended as follows: (a)        there are no age restrictions for zero emission vehicles (vehicles that are electrical / hydrogen powered (zero emissions at the tailpipe); (b)       the six-year maximum age restriction to first licence a vehicle be removed; and (c)        the maximum age to licence a diesel vehicle be 12 years; petrol vehicle be 13 years; and hybrid vehicle be 14 years.
