The committee is scheduled to consider a report on Healthy High Streets . The discussion is expected to cover the role of the Mayor's new London Plan in empowering councils to develop healthier high streets and identify further actions to improve the healthiness of London's high streets. Invited guests for this discussion include William Roberts, Chief Executive of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH); Dr Agatha Nortley-Meshe, Regional Medical Director for Primary Care at NHS England London region; Rob Anderson, Research Director at the Centre for London; Councillor Rags Sandhu from the London Borough of Bexley; and representatives from the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the London Borough of Brent.

Health Committee Work Programme

The committee is also scheduled to review its work programme and meeting dates, as agreed by the London Assembly on 11 May 2026. This includes noting the progress of ongoing investigations and agreeing any outputs from the Rapporteurship on the community use of school sports facilities, led by Krupesh Hirani AM. This investigation aims to explore how the community use of school sports facilities can support exercise and reduce health inequalities for young Londoners.
