Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Wiltshire and are not the council. About us
The Trowbridge Area Board of Wiltshire Council is scheduled to meet on Thursday 18 June 2026, with a range of topics for discussion. These include updates on community initiatives, partner organisation activities, and local highway improvements.
Information Items
The Area Board is scheduled to receive several information items. These include an update on the Connect to Work Programme and Skills Bootcamps, which aims to help individuals with health conditions, disabilities, or other barriers to return to or stay in employment, and offers short courses to help learners retrain in new sectors. A Call to Action
from Wessex Community Action is also on the agenda, highlighting concerns about the pressures facing Wiltshire's voluntary and community sector, with a briefing note outlining the challenges and necessary actions to protect its sustainability.
Additionally, the board is scheduled to receive the Wiltshire Police: Violence Against Women and Girls Quarterly Report, detailing efforts to tackle violence, particularly against women and girls, including work on stalking and domestic abuse. The launch of the Wiltshire Community Lottery will also be presented, an initiative designed to generate sustainable, unrestricted revenue for local good causes. Updates are also expected from the Wiltshire Faith Communities Network, which aims to foster collaboration between faith communities and the council, and Community First, an organisation providing employability and education support through its Building Bridges Programme.
Area Board Funding
The board is scheduled to consider applications for Area Board Funding. This will involve noting the remaining budgets and reviewing any new applications for financial support.
Carers Together Wiltshire
A presentation is scheduled from Carers Together Wiltshire to outline the support available to unpaid carers across Wiltshire.
Area Board Priorities and Action Plan Update
An update on the ongoing Area Board priorities and action plan is scheduled to be provided.
Partner Updates
Written and verbal updates are expected from a number of partners. These include Wiltshire Police, providing information on crime data and policing activities. The Trowbridge Child Wellbeing and Young People Partnership and Trowbridge Future are also scheduled to provide updates. The Wiltshire Family Hub will offer information on its services, and nominated representatives from Town and Parish Councils are invited to share updates on issues and successes within their respective areas.
Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG)
