Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Sutton and are not the council. About us
The Carshalton and Clockhouse Local Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday 23 June 2026. The meeting agenda includes discussions on community funding, a showcase of a local project, and an opportunity for public questions.
Community Showcase: Carshalton Fruit Pickers
The committee is scheduled to hear about the Carshalton Fruit Pickers community project. This session will provide an overview of the initiative and explain how local residents can get involved.
Neighbourhood Fund: Setting Local Priorities
A key item on the agenda is the Neighbourhood Fund, which is intended to support local projects and initiatives within the Carshalton and Clockhouse area. The report pack indicates that this discussion will cover an overview of the funding available, outline what the fund can be used for, and detail the application timescales. This aligns with the council's commitment to empowering local communities and supporting grassroots projects.
Wider Funding Opportunities
In addition to the Neighbourhood Fund, the committee is also scheduled to consider wider funding opportunities. This item suggests a broader look at potential sources of finance that could benefit local projects and services within the Carshalton and Clockhouse area.
Public Questions
The meeting will include a dedicated slot for public questions. This provides an opportunity for residents to raise local issues directly with the committee. Questions must be submitted in advance via a form on the council's website. Those submitted at least five working days before the meeting will receive a written response before the meeting, and attendees will have the chance to ask one follow-up question. Questions submitted later will receive a response after the meeting. The council has stated that questions, along with the name and any represented organisation of the submitter, will be published and included in the meeting minutes.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Good Shepherd Church, Queen Mary's Avenue, Carshalton SM5 4NP, at 7:00 pm. The Chair of the Carshalton and Clockhouse Local Committee is Councillor Andrew Jenner, and the Vice-Chair is Councillor Lisa Webster. Other councillors attending include Isabel Araujo, Pete Chubb, Jake Short, and Noor Sumun. A number of community representatives will also be present in a non-voting capacity.
