The General Licensing and Registration Sub-Committee (1) of Durham County Council met on Wednesday 10 June 2026. The meeting was scheduled to consider the ongoing suitability of several licensed drivers and the grant of new licences.
Consideration of the Ongoing Suitability of a Private Hire Driver
The sub-committee was scheduled to consider the ongoing suitability of a licence holder to remain licensed as a Private Hire Driver. This item was detailed in pages 5 to 18 of the public reports pack.
Consideration of the Grant of a Hackney Carriage & Joint Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver
The meeting was also scheduled to discuss the grant of a Hackney Carriage licence and a Joint Hackney Carriage and Private Hire driver licence. This discussion was outlined on pages 19 to 30 of the public reports pack.
Consideration of the Ongoing Suitability of a Joint Driver
A further item on the agenda involved the consideration of the ongoing suitability of a joint driver. This matter was covered in pages 31 to 74 of the public reports pack.
The meeting was attended by Councillor Matt Burnard (Chair), Councillor Christine Blatchford, Councillor Gary Hutchinson (Mayor of Durham), Councillor Jack McGlenen, and Councillor Robbie Rodiss (Chair of Durham County Council). Helen Bradley, Director of Legal and Democratic Services, also provided documentation for the meeting.
