The Brent Connects - Willesden meeting on Tuesday 23 January 2024 addressed resident concerns regarding fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour, and waste collection issues in the Willesden area. Decisions were made to schedule a multi-agency raid on Hassop Road and to provide further information on drain and gully reporting services.

Hassop Road Concerns

A major concern raised by residents was the ongoing issues on Hassop Road in Willesden, including fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour (ASB), crime, and immigration-related problems. Residents noted that multi-agency raids, which previously occurred approximately every six months, have ceased for unknown reasons. Neighbourhood Manager Philip Stagles committed to liaising with the ASB and Enforcement teams to schedule a new multi-agency raid for the area. An update on this action is expected at the Spring round meeting.

Waste Collection and Blue Bags

Residents also voiced complaints about the current system for blue bag waste collection, stating it is inefficient and that bags are often lost in adverse weather. Concerns were also raised about poor customer service from Veolia, the waste management contractor. Mr. Stagles advised residents experiencing issues to email him directly. Blocked Drains and Gullies

Enquiries were made by residents seeking more information on the services available for blocked drains and gullies, including how and where to report such issues.
