The Cabinet (Livesey Trust) Committee met on Tuesday 13 December 2016 to discuss the annual report and the terms of reference for the committee. Decisions were made regarding the lease of the Livesey building to Treasure House and proposals for repairs to the building's perimeter walls.

Annual Report and Livesey Building Lease

The committee noted the annual report from Treasure House, the current tenants of the Livesey building. Treasure House works with vulnerable young people aged 14 to 19 who have missed parts of their secondary education, and they find the building suitable for their needs. The committee also noted the draft terms for the lease of the Livesey building to Treasure House and agreed to delegate the authority to enter into the lease to the head of property.

Further decisions were made regarding the Livesey building, including noting proposals for making good the perimeter walls and the remains of a previous building in the garden. The committee agreed to delegate the decision on whether to complete the repairs or demolish the old building in the garden to the head of property. Additionally, it was agreed that the council would take ownership of the south-eastern boundary wall by transfer from the council as a local authority, if it is declared surplus to requirements.

Terms of Reference

The committee noted the terms of reference for the committee as set out in the agenda. Councillor Johnson Situ was elected as Chair and Councillor Victoria Mills was elected as Vice-Chair. A site visit for members of the committee to the Livesey Museum was suggested for the new year.
