The Planning Committee of Sutton Council met on Wednesday 7 December 2022, granting planning permission for two separate property extension applications. The meeting, chaired by Councillor Richard Clifton, saw unanimous approval for developments at 4 Furzedown Road and 49 Pine Walk.
Application at 4 Furzedown Road, Sutton SM2 5QE
The committee granted planning permission for the erection of a single-storey rear extension at 4 Furzedown Road, Sutton SM2 5QE. This application was brought before the Planning Committee as the applicant is a councillor, and the recommendation from officers was to approve. Following consideration of the report, a poll vote was held, with all councillors present voting in favour of granting permission, with the exception of Councillor Luke Taylor who abstained. Permission was granted subject to the conditions outlined in Appendix B of the committee report.
Application at 49 Pine Walk, Carshalton SM5 4HA
Planning permission was also granted for extensions to the existing property at 49 Pine Walk, Carshalton SM5 4HA. The proposed works include a single-storey rear extension, conversion of the loft space with a raised roofline and front gable, the formation of two rear dormers, a Juliet balcony, and the installation of rooflights. This application was referred to the committee because the applicant is a member of staff, and officers recommended approval. After reviewing the report, the committee proceeded to a vote. A poll vote confirmed that all councillors present voted in favour of granting planning permission, subject to the conditions detailed in Appendix B.
