The Ealing Council Planning Committee was scheduled to consider two significant planning applications. These included proposals for Northolt High School and the Library for Iranian Studies.
Planning Application for Northolt High School
The committee was scheduled to review planning application 233596FUL concerning Northolt High School, located on Eastcote Lane, Northolt, UB5 4HP, within the Northolt Mandeville ward. The detailed documentation for this application spanned pages 5 to 52 of the agenda.
Planning Application for Library for Iranian Studies
Another key item on the agenda was planning application 215858FUL for the Library for Iranian Studies, situated on Crown Street, Acton, W3 8SA, in the South Acton ward. The associated documents for this application were provided on pages 53 to 114.
The committee's role, as outlined in the agenda, is to decide on approximately 5% of planning permission applications made within the borough, with a senior Planning Officer handling the remainder. The committee is also responsible for deciding on applications for listed building consent, conservation consent, and approving enforcement action. They are also tasked with carrying out the council's conservation policies. The agenda also noted that members of the public who had registered in advance could speak on the applications, with a maximum of three minutes each, or six minutes if an interpreter was used. One speaker could be heard in objection and one on behalf of the applicant for each application. The committee's decisions can include granting planning permission with or without conditions, approval subject to a legal agreement, refusal, or referral for further reports or a site visit.
