The Appeals and Complaints Sub-Committee of County Durham Council met on Tuesday 9 June 2026. The meeting was scheduled to consider an appeal from the Neighbourhoods and Environment department.
Appeal from Neighbourhoods and Environment
The sub-committee was scheduled to consider an appeal lodged by the Neighbourhoods and Environment department. The report pack indicated that this item would involve a review of the Appeal Hearing Procedure, the Appellant's Statement of Case, and the Hearing Officer's Statement of Case. These documents were provided to the members for their consideration.
The meeting was scheduled to take place in Committee Room 2, County Hall, Durham. The members of the Appeals and Complaints Sub-Committee in attendance were Councillor Louise Penders, Councillor Susan Husband, and Councillor Kathryn Rooney. Kirsty Charlton was the contact person for the meeting. Helen Bradley, Director of Legal and Democratic Services, prepared the agenda and report pack.
The agenda also included a procedural item regarding any resolution relating to the exclusion of the public during the discussion of items containing exempt information. This was scheduled as Part A of the meeting, with the appeal itself designated as Part B, indicating that its discussion was considered to be exempt or confidential information.
