The Licensing and Appeals Sub Committee Hearing Panel of Manchester Council is scheduled to consider applications for new private hire driver licences. The meeting will also address any appeals from the public regarding background document inspection or the inclusion of items in the confidential part of the agenda.
Applications for New Private Hire Driver Licences
The panel is scheduled to review reports concerning two separate applications for new private hire driver licences, identified as FK and UA. These reports have been prepared by the Director of Planning, Building Control and Licensing. The specific details of these applications are contained within documents that are restricted from public view, as they contain exempt information under the Local Government Act 1972. The officers consider that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing this information. The committee will be recommended to agree resolutions to exclude the public from the meeting during the consideration of these items.
The Licensing and Appeals Sub-Committee Hearing Panel is responsible for fulfilling the functions of the Licensing Authority in relation to the licensing of taxi drivers, street traders, and sexual entertainment venues. Decisions made by the panel are under delegated authority and do not require referral to the full Council for approval. The Chair of the committee is responsible for ensuring the proper conduct of business.
