The Planning Committee of Enfield Council met on Tuesday 15 September 2026 to consider two planning applications. The meeting's agenda included a report from the Head of Planning and Building Control, and discussions on future meeting dates.
Planning Application 21/00763/FUL - 59-71 Church Lane, N9 9PZ and 34-36 Latymer Road, N9 9PU
This application, located in the Haselbury ward, was scheduled for discussion. The report pack indicated a recommendation to grant planning permission, subject to conditions and the prior completion of a Section 106 Agreement. Delegated authority was also recommended for the Director of Planning and Growth to agree the final wording of these conditions and the agreement. The proposal involved the redevelopment of a temple site, including changes of use, erection of new structures such as a Rajagopuram (temple gateway), conservatory, and chariot store, re-arrangement of parking, and new vehicular access. It also included retrospective elements for the change of use of part of a ground floor to a community hall and the erection of an outbuilding. The report detailed considerations regarding land use, design, residential amenity, transport, waste, biodiversity, sustainability, flood risk, fire safety, and equalities.
Planning Application 26/01120/HOU - 74 Houndsden Road, N21 1LY
This householder application, situated in the Grange Park ward, was also scheduled for consideration. The recommendation was to grant planning permission, subject to conditions. The Director of Planning and Growth was recommended to be granted delegated authority to agree the final wording of these conditions. The proposal involved part single, part two-storey rear and side extensions, including the demolition of a garage and the addition of a rear dormer. The report highlighted considerations related to neighbouring residential amenity, character and appearance, flood risk and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), and transportation. The applicant, Councillor Alev Cazimoglu, was noted as a reason for the application being brought before the committee.
