The Licensing and Appeals Sub Committee Hearing Panel of Manchester Council is scheduled to consider several applications for private hire driver licences. These include new applications and reviews of existing licences.
Applications for New Private Hire Driver Licences
The panel is scheduled to consider applications for new private hire driver licences. These include an application from an individual identified as UH and another from ANS. Reports detailing these applications have been provided to the panel members.
Reviews of Private Hire Driver Licences
Several reviews of existing private hire driver licences are also scheduled for consideration. These involve individuals identified by the licence prefixes ASJ, AAS, AA, AHI, and MDW. The panel will have reports available for each of these reviews.
The Licensing and Appeals Sub Committee Hearing Panel is responsible for fulfilling the functions of the Licensing Authority concerning taxi drivers, street traders, and sexual entertainment venues. The panel operates under an agreed procedure, and decisions made are under delegated authority. The meeting is scheduled to take place in the Council Antechamber, Level 2, Town Hall Extension, Manchester M60 2LA.
The agenda also includes standard procedural items such as considering urgent business, any appeals against the refusal to allow inspection of background documents or the inclusion of items in the confidential part of the agenda, and allowing members to declare interests. The panel may also resolve to exclude the public from certain parts of the meeting if exempt information is to be considered, as provided for in the Local Government Access to Information Act 19721.
The meeting is scheduled to be attended by Councillor Muqaddasah Bano, Councillor David McCullough, and Councillor Lee Glover. The Committee Officer for the meeting is Callum Jones, who can be contacted by telephone on 0161 234 4940 or by email at callum.jones@manchester.gov.uk. The agenda was issued on Friday, 11 September 2026, by the Governance and Scrutiny Support Unit of Manchester City Council.
