The Standards Panel of Staffordshire Council met on Tuesday 14 July 2026. The meeting's agenda indicated that the primary item for discussion was a complaint of a breach of the Code of Conduct by an elected member. The public were to be excluded from this part of the meeting.
Complaint of Breach of the Code of Conduct
The panel was scheduled to consider a complaint alleging a breach of the Code of Conduct by an elected member. A report from the Investigating Officer was provided for this item. The report pack indicated that this item would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, specifically under exemption paragraph 1. The report itself was not publicly available, with pages 3-96 of the report pack being restricted.
The attendees for this meeting were Thomas Baker, Alex Farrell (Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Portfolio Holder for Local Government Reorganisation and Devolution), Craig Humphreyson, Rhys Machin (Cabinet Support Member for Finance and Devolution), and Jon Pendleton. Simon Humble and Liam Archer were also listed as attendees. Kate Loader, the County Solicitor and Monitoring Officer, provided the agenda and report pack.
