Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Enfield and are not the council. About us
The New Southgate Ward Forum was scheduled to discuss local policing, updates on Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs), and gather resident feedback on ward issues. The meeting also aimed to explain a new style of forum operation.
Police Update
The forum was scheduled to receive an update from the police regarding local safety and crime in the New Southgate ward.
LTN Update
An update was planned concerning the implementation and impact of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) within the ward. LTNs are traffic management schemes designed to reduce through traffic in residential areas, often by using physical barriers or signage to divert vehicles onto main roads.
Explanation of New Forum Style
The councillors were scheduled to explain a new format for the ward forum meetings. This new style was intended to guide how discussions and resident engagement would be structured moving forward.
Table Discussions (Issues & Ideas for the Ward)
A significant portion of the meeting was allocated for residents to engage in table discussions. These sessions were intended to identify current issues and generate ideas for improvements within the New Southgate ward.
Feedback from Tables
Following the table discussions, feedback from these group conversations was scheduled to be presented to the wider forum. This would allow for a collective understanding of the issues and ideas raised by residents.
Questions
The agenda indicated a slot for residents to ask questions of the councillors and any other representatives present.
Welcome from Cllr Church & Davenport
The meeting was scheduled to open with a welcome from Councillor Madeline Church and Councillor Laura Davenport, who represent the New Southgate ward.
Any Other Business (AOB)
A final item on the agenda was for any other business that had not been previously scheduled but was deemed necessary to raise.
