The Taxi & General Licensing Sub-Committee of West Northamptonshire Council met on Wednesday 26 August 2026. The primary item scheduled for discussion was an application for a new Private Hire Driver's Licence.
Application for a New Private Hire Driver's Licence
The meeting's agenda included a single substantive item: an application for a new Private Hire Driver's Licence. The report pack provided to attendees contained detailed information regarding this application, spanning pages 5 to 38. Due to the nature of the information contained within this report, it was anticipated that the press and public might be excluded from this part of the meeting. This exclusion would be based on Paragraph 1 of Part 1, Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, which relates to information concerning individuals. The committee was scheduled to consider whether to discuss this item in private, balancing the public interest against the need to protect individual information.
The members of the Taxi & General Licensing Sub-Committee present were Councillor Peter York, Councillor Nigel Berrill, and Councillor Joanne Blythe (Leader of the Restore Britain Group).1 Ed Bostock from Democratic Services was also noted as a point of contact for queries regarding the agenda.
