The Licensing Sub-Committee of Ealing Council is scheduled to consider an application for a new premises licence for Superb Pizza. The committee will also review a panel procedure guidance note.
Application for a New Premises Licence for Superb Pizza
The main item scheduled for discussion is an application for a new premises licence for Superb Pizza, located at 6 Broadway, Hanwell, W7 3SS. The applicant, Mr Rizwan Khan, is seeking to extend the licensable activities to include Late Night Refreshment, with proposed hours from 23:00 to 05:00 daily.
The report pack indicates that four representations have been received from members of the public objecting to the application. These objections are primarily related to the licensing objectives of preventing public nuisance and preventing crime and disorder. Concerns raised include potential noise from customers, anti-social behaviour, vehicle noise from deliveries and collections, cooking smells, and litter.
The committee will consider the application alongside the Council's Statement of Licensing Policy1. This policy outlines core hours for late-night refreshment, which are generally considered to have a lesser impact on licensing objectives. The proposed hours for Superb Pizza extend significantly beyond these core hours, particularly on Sundays through Thursdays. The report pack details the agreed conditions between the applicant and the Metropolitan Police Service2, which include CCTV installation and operation, and revised timings for late-night refreshment. The committee has the option to grant the application as is, grant it with additional or modified conditions, exclude certain licensable activities, refuse to specify a designated premises supervisor, or reject the application entirely.
The committee members for this meeting are Councillor K Nagpal (Chair), Councillor C Sharma, and Councillor V Ryan.
