Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Brent and are not the council. About us
The Alcohol and Entertainment Licensing Sub-Committee was scheduled to consider an application to vary a premises licence for Zebu Butchers Ltd. The application sought to extend the licensed area, permitted hours for the sale of alcohol, and opening hours, as well as add licensable activities of live and recorded music.
Application for Variation to Premises Licence: Zebu Butchers Ltd
The Alcohol and Entertainment Licensing Sub-Committee was scheduled to consider an application from Zebu Butchers Ltd, located at Unit 38 Sapcote Trading Centre, High Road, NW10 2DJ, to vary its existing premises licence.
The proposed variations included:
- Extension of Licensed Area: To include the private car parking area belonging to Unit 38 for customer seating and the consumption of food and alcohol.
- Extended Permitted Hours for Alcohol Sales: To extend the sale of alcohol (on and off the premises) from 9:00 pm to 12:00 am (midnight), Monday to Sunday.
- Extended Opening Hours: To extend the premises' opening hours from 9:00 pm to 12:30 am, Monday to Sunday.
- Addition of Live Music: To add the licensable activity of live music, to take place solely within the internal area of the premises, from 12:00 pm to 12:00 am (midnight), Monday to Sunday.
- Addition of Recorded Music: To add the licensable activity of recorded music, with recorded music permitted indoors until 12:00 am (midnight) and outdoors until 10:00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
The report pack indicated that representations had been received from the Police and a member of the public. The applicant, Zebu Butchers Ltd, had also provided a supplementary document outlining their operational plans and proposed safeguards. The Police had made representations concerned with all four licensing objectives: the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm. A representation from a member of the public also raised concerns across these same four objectives, with particular emphasis on public safety due to the proposed use of the car park area and the cumulative impact of the proposed changes. The Licensing Authority also made a representation, primarily concerned with the proposed extension of the licensed area into the private car park, citing potential increases in noise disturbances and public safety concerns.
The report pack included the current premises licence for Zebu Butchers Ltd, which detailed its existing authorised hours for the sale of alcohol and opening times. It also outlined the mandatory conditions and conditions consistent with the operating schedule that were in place.
